MOUNTAIN RESONANCE - an alpine survival horror RPG
It combines the desperation and horror of the Mothership® RPG / Panic Engine™ with the aesthetics of 1930s alpine mountaineering. It is an OSR loveletter about attrition and sacrifice, and making difficult choices in the face of an overwhelming, uncaring adversary: The Mountain Itself.
This digital publication is free and includes all rules and content for Players and Wardens to create your Mountaineers, equip them for the ascent, and narrate their troublesome journey to the summit or elsewhere through the mountains.
There is a fillable and a non-fillable character sheet optimised for usage with Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Initially, it was developed to facilitate a campaign called The Cost of Summer, a story about overcoming a never-ending winter in a fictional colonist empire. To showcase different aspects of the game system and its intended setting three pamphlet one-shot adventures with pre-generated characters are included, please see below.
