Ashes is a card game which can be played head-to-head against another player, or solo or cooperatively against a game controlled opponent. Players first select a Phoenixborn, a powerful demigod with magical powers, as well as a deck of cards that represents that Phoenixborn’s arsenal of spells, allies, and magical conjurations. You can use a preconstructed deck right out of any Ashes box set, or dip into your library of cards to construct your deck!

Ashes Ascendancy is the next era of the expandable card game Ashes; a new entry point for the series and a continuation of Ashes Reborn. Fully compatible with all of Ashes Reborn, Ashes Ascendancy marks the introduction of two new magic types for Phoenixborn to wield, the same competitive card play you know and love, plus a new type of foe for players to take down in solo or co-op battles.

The Ashes Ascendancy: Starter Set has everything a new player needs to get started playing Ashes, as well as brand-new content for the returning player! It provides two pre-constructed player decks and two sets of dice, letting players immediately jump into the action! Two players can fight each other head-to-head with these decks, or team up to fight a Dragonborn. This starter set has all the rules and components needed for either mode, plus the first-ever Dragonborn to appear in the game: Scatha Kalani! The cards contained in this box serve as the perfect foundation for your Ashes collection!
